Installation + FAQs

What’s in the free fastener kit?

The free fastener kit includes Click & Connect clips, plugs, screws, and end caps you need for your rails. It’s a built-in saving – worth $9.25 for a 2 m rail and $12.18 for a 3 m rail.

How do I install Click Rail?

Mark a level line 15 mm below the lowest point of your cornice or square set ceiling. Look for studs for the strongest fixing. Fix Click & Connect clips at 3 clips per metre, drill Ø 6 mm, plug, screw, then click the rail onto the clips and cap the ends.

Can Click Rail be installed on gyprock, brick or concrete walls?

Yes, Click Rail can be fixed to all common wall types. The key is using the right fixing method for the surface behind your paint.

  • Gyprock (plasterboard): For best strength, fix into studs wherever possible (a stud finder helps). When studs aren’t available at your clip positions, using good-quality hollow-wall anchors (e.g. wall mates) rather than basic plugs works well.
  • Brick or concrete: Drill a 6 mm hole, insert the wall plugs, then screw the Click & Connect clips firmly so they sit flat against the wall. A hammer drill makes this quick and tidy.

Tip: Keep clips at 3 per metre and make sure each clip is tight and flush. A rail can only look “dead straight” if the clips are dead straight.

How strong is Click Rail?

Each metre supports 30 kg when installed with the supplied clips – ideal for most canvases, framed art, prints and mirrors. For heavier pictures, choose the Click Rail Pro picture rail.

Can I repaint the rail?

Yes. The white-primer version takes any interior acrylic. Lightly sand, wipe clean, then roll or spray two coats. Do this AFTER you have installed the rails – it’s easy to samage the paintwork when clicking the rails onto the wall clips (click & connects)

Does it sit neatly under cornices?

Absolutely. At just 25 mm high Click Rail tucks under standard plaster cornices for a clean shadow line. Also perfect for square set ceilings.

Which picture rail hooks and hanging wires should I use?

Start by matching three things: the rail rating (kg per metre), the wire rating, and the hook rating. The artwork’s weight determines your choice of wires and hooks. ArtiTeq recommends using correct ArtiTeq combinations to maintain performance and warranty.
Using two hanging wires also helps the artwork hang more steadily and safely.

  • For the most subtle look: choose transparent perlon hanging wires with a matching hook size (1 mm or 2 mm). Perlon is visually discreet, especially for smaller to medium pieces.
  • For a crisp, architectural look (and my personal favourite): choose 1 mm stainless steel hanging wires. They fall beautifully, look modern, and are extremely durable. For heavier works, step up to 2 mm steel.
  • Hook choice:
    • Micro Grip 1 mm: ideal for lighter setups, commonly paired with 1 mm wires.
    • Micro Grip 2 mm: for heavier pieces, paired with 2 mm wires, with options rated up to higher loads.
    • Locking / security options: if the artwork is in a public space (galleries, schools, commercial fit-outs), choose a locking style hook where appropriate for extra security.
  • Quick real-world combos (examples):

Note on TÜV: You’ll see “TÜV” mentioned on ArtiTeq documentation. It’s an independent testing organisation, and ArtiTeq notes TÜV Netherlands involvement in quality procedures for Micro Grip hooks.

How do I hang 2 or 3 pictures on one pair of hanging wires?

Think of the two wires as the sides of a ladder, and each frame sits on its own rung. Each frame needs 2 hooks (one on each wire), so 2 frames need 4 hooks and 3 frames need 6 hooks.
Choose perlon (clear nylon) for the most invisible look, or steel for a clean, architectural look. Steel is also easier to handle because it falls nicely and is more robust if you rehang often.

Use D-rings, not string, for straight hanging.
For professional results in a column use tilt reducers to reduce forward tilt.
If there’s still some forward tilt (or the frame is marking the wall), add frame spacers.

Is Click Rail renter-friendly?

Yes – no nails, no patching. Just move, rehang, and keep the bond money alive. Read this: Hanging Art in Rental Properties

Click Rail vs Click Rail Pro – what’s the difference?

Click Rail is a discreet, slimline rail rated to 30 kg/m. Click Rail Pro is the professional grade version: a deeper profile for a cleaner visual finish (wire heads are concealed), and a higher capacity of 50 kg/m. It’s often selected for galleries, commercial spaces and high-end interiors.
In both systems, the rail stays fixed and you fine-tune the display using hanging wires and picture rail hooks – making it easy to rehang, rearrange and level artwork without new holes.

Hang Logic are a fabulous supplier of the ArtiTeq click rail hanging solution. Ordering and delivery was easy. This is the third house I've used this product in and highly recommend it. I'll never nail another picture hook into a wall again.
I work at a museum in Adelaide, and in December 2024 we ordered the Click Rail Pro White Primer with Fastener Kit, Frame Hangers, and Solid Sliders. The customer service was outstanding, and the ordering process was quick and efficient. The team at Hang Logic was easy to contact and kept us informed at every stage.

I’ve just placed another order of rails, as we are curating a section of the museum, and once again, I’m extremely happy with the level of service, especially my interactions with Jacqueline. She is always lovely to deal with, takes my calls promptly, and ensures everything runs smoothly. I’m looking forward to receiving these new rails, and I’m confident this won’t be our last order!
The rails arrived very safely and the 3m ones are now installed. The 2m one will be installed later in the house once we have finished renovating. As promised I have attached a few photos of my art studio space. I didn’t order enough to ensure there are two wires per canvas so would like to order more. I’m so impressed with the system that I want to use the hanging loops in the house.
Jacqueline at Hang Logic was super helpful with my project to hang a large rug I wanted to display but also flex to use as a curtain across a media room entryway. She spent time talking through the details and organised everything I needed from the Artiteq range. Fantastic customer service and great products! Very happy with the outcome
