Installation Guide & Common Questions
What is inside the Free Fastener Kit?
Every rail from Hang Logic comes with a Free Fastener Kit containing the essential Click & Connect clips, screws, plugs, and end caps. This is a built-in saving of $9.25 – $12.18 per rail.
How do I install the Click Rail?
Installation is a simple 3-step process:
- Mark: Draw a level line 15mm below your cornice or ceiling.
- Drill & Fix: Install the Click & Connect clips (3 per metre) using the supplied screws and plugs.
- Click: Snap the rail onto the clips for a flush finish.
Tip: Ensure clips are perfectly aligned. A rail can only be “dead straight” if the clips are straight.
Important: You must apply firm pressure (using your palm, fist or a rubber mallet) until the rail snaps 100% flush against the wall. If you see a gap, the rail is not faulty, it simply needs a little more force to fully engage the clip.
Can I repaint the rail?
Yes. Choose the “White Primer” version. It comes pre-primed and ready for any standard interior acrylic paint.
Important: We recommend painting the rails after installation. It requires firm pressure (or a rubber mallet) to click the rail onto the wall clips, which can easily chip or mark fresh paint if done beforehand.
How to choose the right Wires & Hooks?
Match your choice to the weight of your art and your desired look:
- The “Invisible” Look: Use Perlon (Transparent) Cords. Best for light to medium art.
- The “Architectural” Look: Use Stainless Steel Cables (1mm or 2mm). Best for modern interiors and heavier pieces.
Popular Combinations:
- Up to 5kg: 1mm Perlon Wire + Micro Grip 1mm
- Up to 10kg: 1mm Steel Wire + Micro Grip 1mm
- Up to 20kg: 2mm Perlon/Steel + Micro Grip 2mm
How do I hang multiple pictures (columns)?
Think of two hanging wires as the sides of a ladder. You can stack multiple pictures on the same pair of wires.
The Rule: 1 Frame = 2 Hooks (one on each wire).
Therefore, to hang 2 frames one above the other, you need 4 hooks total.
Accessories for Columns:
- Use D-Rings on your frames for stability.
- Use Tilt Reducers to keep frames flat against the wall.
Click Rail vs. Click Rail Pro?
- Click Rail (30kg/m): The standard choice for homes. Slim, discreet, and hides under the cornice.
- Click Rail Pro (50kg/m): The heavy-duty choice. Features a deeper profile that lets you mount the rail reversed to completely hide the top of the cable. Popular in galleries.
