Give your photographs and printed panels a clean, floating finish. ArtiTeQ Back Frame fits behind the artwork, adding support and a subtle shadow gap while keeping the frame out of sight. Hang it directly on the wall or combine it with your picture rail for easy repositioning.

Let your artwork take centre stage

A photograph printed on a panel deserves a finish that shows it off. Back Frame brings it forward from the wall, giving the edges room to stand out. The aluminium support frame also helps stiffen thin panels and distributes the load around its four sides.

Flex Bumpers are optional. Wall screws and plugs, picture rails, hanging wires, hooks, security accessories and cleaning products are not included. Choose the additional parts to suit your hanging method.

Choose your back frame

Prices include GST. These are nominal support-frame sizes, not artwork sizes. See the sizing guidance below before choosing.

Choose how to hang your panel

Directly on the wall: The upper Power Corners hang on two suitable wall screws. Their levelling adjustment lets you make small corrections without drilling new holes. Use fixings suitable for the wall and the total load.

From a picture rail: Combine Back Frame with a compatible ArtiTeQ rail, two hanging wires and suitable hooks. Follow the installation guide to route the wires through the upper corners and locate the hooks in the lower corners to reduce tilt.

With added security: Optional Back Frame Security Clips and a matching key allow the panel to be locked in place. Ask us about the parts needed for your installation.

Optional Flex Bumpers

Flex Bumpers adjust the spacing between the frame and the wall, helping the artwork sit parallel to it. They are particularly useful when hanging from picture-rail wires. ArtiTeQ recommends them to prevent forward tilt in this arrangement. Add a set if you want that extra control over how your panel sits.

Choosing the right size

The support frame sits inside the edges of your artwork. ArtiTeQ recommends positioning it about 100 mm in from each side. As a guide, a nominal 400 x 500 mm frame would sit behind a 600 x 700 mm panel with that inset.

If your panel needs a different inset, please send us its dimensions, material, thickness and weight before ordering. The distance between the frame and panel edges affects support, so a larger panel is not automatically suitable for a smaller frame.

ArtiTeQ guidance covers Dibond aluminium composite 3-6 mm thick, Forex rigid PVC foam board 3-5 mm, and acrylic or Plexiglas 3-5 mm. Contact us about glass or other materials.

Installation essentials

Dry-assemble the frame first. Check that it is square, confirm the fit and mark its position before removing the tape backing.

Clean the bonding area with a residue-free cleaner approved for both the panel material and the adhesive, and allow it to dry. Avoid household cleaners that leave a film. Follow the supplied surface-preparation instructions.

Apply the frame with the pressure specified in the installation guide. ArtiTeQ specifies 72 hours for the tape to develop its maximum bond, with the bonded panel stored horizontally in a dry, clean place at a minimum of 18 degrees C. Do not hang it immediately after sticking the frame on.

How much weight can it hold

ArtiTeQ guidance covers suitable panels up to 30 kg, subject to material, dimensions, frame placement, tape area and installation. This is not a blanket 30 kg rating for every kit. Wall fixings, rails, wires and hooks must also suit the complete load.
