Frame Hanger at a glance
ArtiTeq Frame Hanger (7805.050 + 7805.055) is a hook with better manners: instead of sliding a hook into D-rings, you attach the frame hangers to the frame and thread the hanging wire through them. It’s faster to hang, easier to work with, and it encourages a flatter, less forward-tilting result.
Key points
- Attaches to your artwork: screw or glue one Frame Hanger to each side of the frame (best placed as high as possible, near the top edge).
- No D-ring fiddling: thread the hanging wire through the Frame Hanger, rather than slipping a hook into D-rings.
- Self-locking adjustment: grips in the downward direction (so it won’t creep), and can be adjusted when needed.
- Encourages a flatter hang: especially helpful for lighter artworks that love leaning forward, like they’re trying to overhear your conversation.
- Security option for public spaces: pair it with a 2 mm Solid Slider stainless steel hanging wire to make removal much harder (snatch-and-grab deterrent).
- Works with all ArtiTeq picture rails: usable across the ArtiTeq rail system.
Choose your size (wire diameter + weight rating)
- 7805.055 Frame Hanger 1.0 – 1.5 mm (Max 10 kg – 8 mm wide)
- 7805.050 Frame Hanger 1.5 – 2 mm (Max 15 kg – 11 mm wide)
How to use + reduce tilt + anti-theft setup
How to install the Frame Hanger (placement matters)
- Fit two frame hangers, one on each side of the artwork.
- Place them as high as possible, near the top edge of the frame.
- Screw or glue into place (depending on the frame and what’s appropriate).
Why high placement helps: the higher the hanging point, the less leverage the top of the frame has to tilt forward.
How height adjustment works (same logic as Micro Grip)
These self-locking hangers grip in the downward direction. That means:
- To move up: slide up freely (pull down on the hanging wire while pushing the hanger/frame up).
- To move down: pinch the top plunger/nipple to release the grip, slide down, then release to lock again.
Why lighter art tilts more (friendly physics, not exam physics)
Forward tilt is basically a tiny tug-of-war between gravity and the backward pull from your hanging wires.
Picture this in words:
- The wire comes down from the rail and pulls the top of the frame up and slightly back toward the wall.
- A heavy artwork creates higher wire tension, which increases that backward pull, so it tends to sit flatter.
- A light artwork has lower wire tension, so that backward pull is weaker, and the frame tilts forward more.
Three simple fixes that work together
- Screw the Frame Hangers high (reduces the leverage that causes tilt).
- Use Tilt Reducers
- If needed, add frame spacers (at bottom on the back of the frame/canvas) to stop the tilt forward effect and protect the wall.
Public spaces and anti-theft setups
If you need the hanging wire to be much harder to remove (schools, galleries, lobbies, anywhere people get grabby), pair the Frame Hanger with a 2 mm Solid Slider stainless steel wire. Solid Slider wires slide into the rail but are not removed easily, which makes quick theft a lot less “quick.”

You can screw or glue the frame hanger onto the back side of your picture frame or stretcher. Then you slide your hanging wire through the frame hanger. If you use the Solid Slider 2mm steel hanging wire your picture will be hard to steal. This combination is excellent in public spaces as it deters snatch and grab. You can use it with all Artiteq rails.
