30.41200 Micro Grip 2 mm (20 kg) is a compact, self-locking picture hook designed for 2 mm hanging wires. It grips harder as the load increases, and it’s made for quick, precise height adjustment when you’re fine-tuning your display.
- Wire size: To be used with 2 mm diameter hanging wires.
- Compatible with: both steel and perlon (clear nylon) hanging wires.
- Weight rating depends on the wire + hook set:
- With 2 mm perlon wire: 20 kg per wire + hook set (40 kg per pair).
- With 2 mm stainless-steel wire: 20 kg per wire + hook set (40 kg per pair).
- Stability tip: hang frames from D-rings (not string) for a steadier, straighter result.
- Best practice: use two hooks per artwork for better balance and less swing if someone bumps past.

How the Micro Grip works + safety
Easy height adjustment
- To move the hook up: slide it upward along the wire (it moves freely in the up direction).
- To move the hook down: pinch the control/release button and the hook body together, slide it down, then release to lock.
Fitting the hook onto the wire
- Pinch the control button and the hook body together.
- Feed the 2 mm wire into the top of the hook.
- Insert until approximately 5 cm of wire protrudes below the hook.
Safety basics (please don’t skip these)
- Always support the frame (or remove it) before making adjustments.
- Never press the control button while the hook is under load.
- Always leave at least 5 cm of wire hanging below the hook.
- Make sure your rail and wall fixings are suitable for the total load you’re hanging.
Quick tip for getting frames perfectly straight
Level the frame by eye, or rest a small spirit level on the frame. Then adjust one hook slightly up (or release and lower it) until the frame sits perfectly level.
Materials, testing + warranty
The Micro Grip range is designed to be strong without being wasteful. The hook body is made from fibreglass-reinforced plastic, using significantly less material than older-style hooks while still delivering high strength.

The Micro Grip Hook is made for hanging pictures on a picture hanging wire. It’s easy to use:
Putting the Hook on the Wire: Slide the wire through the small hole at the top of the hanging wire. Push it all the way through until it comes out of the bottom.
Moving the Hook Up: To move the hook higher up the wire, pull the wire down a bit with one hand and push the hook up with your other hand. The hook won’t slide down by itself because it locks in place.
Moving the Hook Down: If you want to move the hook lower, just pinch the top and bottom of the hook together. This unlocks it, so you can slide it down the wire.
Once you’ve placed the hook at the desired height, you can hang your picture on it. The hook holds onto the wire securely, keeping your picture in place.
For hanging a picture, it’s best to use two hooks and wires for each picture. This ensures safety and stability. Additionally, it’s advisable to slide the hooks into D-rings attached close to the top of the back of the picture. This method is preferable to attaching the hooks directly to a wire or cord at the back of the picture, as it provides better support.
