1. Built-in Hanging Systems – Introduction
A built-in picture hanging system is hidden along the shadow line of your ceiling.
Not only is it invisible, but the system is also easy and convenient to use as the hanging wires (also called hangers or cords) can be removed or hung at will. Changing artwork of any size is safe and easy with the impressive holding power (not quite like Spiderman’s, but close) of the Artiteq hanging system.
Hang Logic’s straightforward system uses Artiteq’s Twister hangers, reducing time and effort when hanging your pictures.
Coupled with Artiteq’s Micro Grip or Ratchet hooks, you will enjoy your new environment in no time; or less than no time if you have a time machine handy.
1. Where Can you Use Invisible, Built-In Picture Hanging Systems?
Hanging your pictures can be fun and easy, because you can exercise the power of redefining a space and therefore bring out the artist in you. Explore your creativity with the easy-to-use and versatile picture hanging rail from Hang Logic. This unique, invisible hanging system not only lets you discreetly hang pictures; it also inspires you to use your imagination when arranging pieces at will with the picture hanging rail (also called ‘art tracks’ or just ‘tracks’). If you don’t like your placement, try again! When you get bored with your artwork, change them over for a different mood. This built-in picture hanging system from Artiteq is fun to use.
When is the best time to have a built-in system installed?
Architects specify these ceiling-integrated tracks for homes and offices, particularly when we bribe them to. Art tracks are inserted during building or renovation between the top of the wall and ceiling.
Example:
Our homeowner clients have turned their bland corridors and hallways into a spectacular showcase of artwork. Their visitors also get to enjoy an exciting journey of discovery while transversing the passage. The picture hanging system by Artiteq allows you to change your mind whenever you like; if you are tired of your large pictures, just change things over and opt for small artworks.
What if you have a stairwell or sloping ceiling?
Even in awkward spaces such as the spandrel or stair void, Artiteq’s built-in picture hanging system is ideal. If you’d like to hang artwork on a sloping wall, most stairwells have angled walls, just use our ‘hanging set sloped rail’. This hanging kit includes a lockable stopper which prevents the hanging wires from sliding down the track you have installed on an angle.

Shopfitters also value the built-in rails. Windows are a fascinating spot for the Artiteq picture hanging system as they offer the opportunity to advertise, entice and delight potential clients. They present the ultimate visibility for anyone wanting to show off their products.
Why not think out of the box. One customer exercised his creative thinking and hung musical instruments from the ceiling-integrated art track. His shop window revealed the soul of the business at a glance. Glass from the window reflected the light onto his products, giving them a glowing ambiance.
Businesses have incorporated built-in hanging rails in their meeting rooms, boardrooms, staff rooms, reception, and waiting rooms.
These art tracks allow you to make a statement in larger areas; Hang Logic’s Artiteq picture hanging rails can handle between 20kg/m – 50kg/m depending on the type of art track you choose. Large pieces will be no trouble for the built-in picture hanging system. Imagine your boardroom with large paintings by well-known artist(s), something to impress your client.
Are you based in South Australia? If yes, your clients could also be entranced by the artwork your company could hire from Art Logic, taking home with them an everlasting memory of their time at your company. Here’s what a social science-based workplace consultancy firm reports in one of their studies.
According to Rachel Smith (October 2016)
“Displaying art in the workplace can elevate employee performance, mood, and physical well-being, as well as bolster interpersonal bonds between employees and clients.”
Public spaces such as libraries benefit from hanging systems too. We have installed art tracks in many libraries; they use them to display paintings of local artists and they hang posters for book launches with picture rails. The advantage of the built-in picture hanging rails is that they are almost invisible. When used to hang art, they give their viewers the perfect opportunity to reflect on the narrative of the picture.
In one creative library, we sold the built-in picture hanging rails to runs art activities for children. They help them to illustrate their favorite books. Posters relating to these books that the library staff hang from picture-hanging rails inspire the children.
Hang Logic’s built-in picture hanging system invites you to hang artworks, photos, advertising, or just about anything discreetly, with the ultimate flexibility. You can move your pictures both sideways along the rails as well as up and down the transparent, Perlon (a very sturdy type of nylon) hanging wire.
Art galleries have been using these discreet picture hanging systems for many years, and there is no reason for your home or organization not to be in on it. The discreet elegance which these art tracks afford can transform your home into a professional-looking art gallery elevating your prized art collection, whether it’s your children’s artwork or creations by established artists.

Although this rail has the word ‘masonry’ in its name, the key factor is that it is ‘wall attached. Hence it can be used for other construction types such as concrete, plasterboard, timber, straw-bale, and mud-brick walls: the builder will install it between the walls and the ceiling. Combine it with 1mm Perlon hanging wires, and you will have the most invisible art hanging system on the market; unless you have an invisibility ray handy- if so could I borrow it?

Use this type of hanging rail for new builds or renovations and have clean and undamaged walls with a picture hanging system throughout your entire space.

It suits 10mm and 13mm ceiling linings.
The end-user can choose between 1mm or 2 mm nylon or stainless steel hanging wires, depending on the dimension and weight of the pictures they would like to hang. Depending on the height of the wall, clients can opt for different hanger lengths: we stock 150cm, 200cm, and 300cm long hangers.

3.3 The Art Strip built-in hanging rail
The Art Strip can hide in a modern recessed ceiling, often seen in offices. It provides a recessed shadow line hanging rail for ceiling tile systems. The corner profile for the recessed ceiling is attached to the Art Strip.

3.4 – The Ceiling Strip built-in hanging rail
We love the ceiling strip because once installed, all you see is a discreet shadow line along the edge of the recessed ceiling where the picture hanging system is hidden. Because the corner bracket and the hanging system are integrated, the metal tips on the Twister hanging wires also disappear entirely into the ceiling.
So really, it’s as invisible as you can get, and it’s a top-quality finish. This built-in hanging rail suits a grid ceiling tile system.

3.5 – Built-in picture hanging systems: the Deco built-in hanging rail
The Deco Rail picture hanging system is an excellent alternative for heritage buildings when you want to safeguard that old-world charm of the past. When renovating a historic home retrofitting is possible with the built-in picture hanging system from Hang Logic by Artiteq, simply by removing the old cornice and replacing it with a new cornice and integrating it with the Deco Rail. The image shows how the picture hanging system works with the Deco Rail product.
Imagine being able to invisibly hang the twisters behind the cornice, thereby making the built-in picture hanging system unobtrusive.

Deco Rail specifications:
- Rail width: 200cm, depth: 9.4mm, height: 34.5mm
- White primer – 3 screws per metre
- The hanging rail is invisible
- Ideal for Heritage refurbishment scenarios
- Weight capacity up to 20kg per metre
- Ten-year warranty
- Artiteq product number: 05.75100
Built-in picture hanging systems: how to Install the Deco Rail
- Wall mount the Deco Rail (before attaching the cornice).
- Apply plaster cement over the top of the deco rail to attach the cornice.
- Place the cornice onto the rail’s metal protrusion (aka the cornice edge) and blob it onto the top of the rail.
- If required, you can also screw the cornice onto timber blocks – nail holes can be easily covered afterward.
- Because the cornice sits on a metal ridge (the deco rail’s edge) which is perfectly straight, you achieve a level finish.
- Even if the cornice is crumbly (which can happen with plaster) there is still a perfect finish given that there is a little flange that catches the cornice.
4. P50 Shadowline Bead – why the built-in picture hanging systems can replace it.
Introduction
Artiteq’s built-in picture hanging systems are for anyone seeking the most versatile, discreet, and maintenance-free design. They are ideal for the home renovator / DIY’er or professional installers, architects and builders.
If you are looking for a hanging solution for your artwork or advertising but do not want to wreak havoc on your pristine walls, we at Hang Logic have the answer.
What exactly a P50 shadow line system do?
Some of you may be familiar with the P50 shadow line system (If not, do not fear! A few paragraphs later, we explain what it is) that is more sought after in new builds than the heritage-inspired cornice of the past. The P50 shadow line system creates a modern, minimalist floating ceiling with a subdued shadow towards the wall.
Can a built-in picture hanging system replace it?
Very few people know that our built-in picture hanging systems give you the exact same effect. But there is one point of difference! If you use our built-in rails instead of the P 50 Shadowline Bead you have a built-in hanging rail from which to hang your pictures. This atmospheric architectural feature offers clean lines on the top without the shock factor. Our built-in rails provide the same clean lines, but in addition, they allow you to create a welcoming space for people to gather, be it at work or home.
It happens regularly that we are called in to install wall-fixed hanging rails in just completed, up-market homes with Shadowline ceilings. When the homeowners discover that they could have had a hanging rail inside their shadow line, which would have allowed them to do away with installing a wall-fixed rail they are devastated. Some clients have even made angry calls to their builders or architects asking them why they didn’t install our Shadowline rails instead of the P50 shadow line system. The builder’s answer is always the same: I didn’t know this option existed.
We’ve had a fair few builders, architects, and plasterers contact us. They’ve been amazed that this alternative exists. Now they are converts – they swear by our built-in rails for their customers.
The run of the mill solution is to destroy one’s walls with unsightly plugs and hanging apparatus. But ultimately, we all know that the time will come when we want to redecorate the living room, the corridors, our bedrooms, our offices, in fact, any spaces with empty walls.
Allow me to repeat, the difference between Artiteq’s built-in picture hanging rails we use at Hang Logic, and other shadow line systems such as the P50 is that they allow you to hang anything you desire from them: wall sculptures, paintings, drawings, posters, plants or advertising. This is not possible with the P50.
What is the P50 Shadowline
I thought I’d throw in an explanation for ‘normal’ people who furrow their brows when they hear the term P50 Shadowline bead.
The so-called P50 Shadowline is a plastering stop bead or channel and furring that creates a gap between the ceiling and wall, casting a shadow onto the wall, hence its name. You’ll find the P50 Shadowline system in many modern homes. It offers that clean minimal look without cornices that modern architects embrace. The P50 is a generic term; these plastering beads are manufactured by many companies. They are available in most hardware stores.
It is relatively easy for someone familiar with tools and the building industry to install the P50 Shadowline. However, most homeowners call upon professionals to install the bead.
The positive of this system: it will give you a modern look many people today desire. The negative of this system is its limitations; it does not incorporate a built-in picture hanging system.

5 – Conclusion – the sustainability aspect
Sustainability is now a major concern; all of Artiteq’s picture hanging rails are made from aluminum which is easy to recycle. Artiteq hanging systems give you peace of mind – they are low maintenance and durable. They all come with a 10-year guarantee.
Our clients use these picture-hanging systems as they save you from damaging your walls and building structure. The hidden nature of Artiteq’s built-in picture hanging system provides unmatched elegance.
When renovating, clients no longer need to worry if they want to hang new, different artwork on their walls. They know they will never again need to force a nail, screw, or plug into their walls and then have to plaster up the holes and paint the walls when they remove them.
Hang Logic’s product range of Artiteq picture hanging systems does not require you to bash a nail into the middle of the wall or a plug, for that matter. Think of the cost and time saved; you will not have to work like a B@#$* trying to get the job done, painting, plastering, and sanding.
Hang Logic is a small, proud company that understands that nothing stays the same and tastes change. That is why we do what we do; we want you to have the best solution to modern living. We rejoice in giving you the opportunity and ability to change your mind and hang what you want when you want.
