It all began with Art Logic and their search for the best picture hanging system. But what is Art Logic and why was it founded?

Jacqueline Mitchell’s Career and Idea

In 2002 Jacqueline Mitchell come back home after a 38 year stint overseas to a blank canvas. She’d had a few careers overseas – she taught theoretical Economics at Munich University and then moved to Brussels to work as a Simultaneous Conference Interpreter with the EU and the manifold organizations that had flocked to Brussels work in Europe’s hotspot.

What to do professionally now she wondered upon her return to Australia?  Her interpreting job had her traveling all over Europe and one of the things that had left a big impression on her was the magnificent, immense paintings businesses in Sweden displayed in their offices. This made them so inviting and compelling too. Compare that with the run-of-the mill drab, dreary office and those offices seemed like paradise.

Haha – that was what she could do. She could find lots of brilliant local artists and rent their art to businesses on a rotation basis. Every 4 months the businesses would get new art – how much fun would that be.

That’s how Art Logic came about: it creates art exhibitions for businesses and changes their artwork every 4 to 6 months.

Why Art Logic Researched Picture Hanging Systems

Because Art Logic did not want to  destroy clients’ pristine walls by drilling new screws into them every time their art was rotated the business needed a picture hanging system that would stand the test of time. It had to be easy to use, aesthetically pleasing and have the right price tag.

In 2003 they first began researching picture hanging systems.

The final verdict was for the Artiteq hanging system, which is manufactured in Tilburg in the Netherlands. Jacqueline  visited their factory in the Netherlands and was impressed. The Birth of Hang Logic

Initially Art Logic installed the picture hanging systems only for their corporate clients. Then these clients and their clients wanted picture hanging rails in their homes. Jacqueline Mitchell, a savvy entrepreneur, realised that given the high demand for art track systems, a picture hanging system business would fare well on its own 2 feet. Thus  ‘Hang Logic’ was born.

Where has Hang Logic installed picture hanging systems?

Since then, Hang Logic has installed about 100,000 metres of the Artiteq art hanging systems in homes, schools, offices, libraries, council buildings, sports venues, cafés, restaurants and medical practices.The Hang Logic team is in love with this hanging system and the possibilities it offers (that is actually true!)
